“When a Mother Give Birth to Her Master” – Judgment day it is…

Warning! This entry will be in Malay and English language.

“Umi nak pergi ambil Acu sekejap.” Acik menoleh. Jelas terpancar keletihan diwajah ibunya. Sedangkan hari itu agak panas dan memenatkan bagi yang berpuasa.

“Umi ok ke? Nak acik ikut?” dia menawarkan diri.

“Awak nak ikut ke? Jomlah.”

“OK. Orang drive, umi tunjuk jalan eh.” jawabnya sambil tersengih.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Tiba di sekolah.

“Lambatnya..” rungut Acu. Acik tidak membalas.

Sebaliknya umi pula yang bertanya. “Sekarang pukul berapa?”

“Dah pukul 5:20. Acu habis kelas tambahan jam 4:30 tadi.” intonasi suaranya ditinggikan sedikit. Acik mendiamkan diri memandu perlahan kereta keluar dari kawasan sekolah.

“Laa, bukan ke selalunya umi walid balik kerja baru ambil Acu. Keluar pejabat pun dah 5:15 petang.”

Nak pergi McD.” dia bertanya lagi mendesak mahukan jawapan. “Ha? Umi? Boleh tak?” Umi hanya menjawab ringkas. “Hmm.”

Kereta tersebut tiba di simpang tiga jalan.

“Eh, masuk kiri. Awak diam dari tadi, ingatkan tahu jalan.” umi tergelak kecil.

Acik diam sejenak sebelum bersuara. “Diam sebab berfikir,” dia menukar gear. “Berfikir cara acu bercakap dengan umi.”

“Aah, dia kalau cakap dengan umi memang kasar. Belok kanan.”

Angel Jibriel asked the Prophet, “When will the hour (Day of judgment) be established?” The Prophet replied, “The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner”. But I will inform you about its signs:

1. When a slave woman gives birth to her mistress or master

2. When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah.

Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar explained that it refers to the spread of disobedience to one’s parents. The child will become as if he/she is a parent. I think this sign has become increasingly noticeable in a heart-breaking way. A son, who is still being cared for by their parents, gives them orders in an irrespective way that hurts their feelings and honor. A daughter will treat her mother in a way mistress treats her slaves. This has become common practice.

".. mom's love will never change .."

Three out of multi-zillion reasons why parents should be valued:

  1. Mothers and parents have legit rights to be loved and honored as what Allah said in the Quran:
    • “…his mother carries him in her womb while suffering weakness upon weakness and then weans him for two years – That’s why We commanded him: “Give thanks to Me and to your parents, and keep in mind that, to Me is your final goal.” [Luqman 31:14]
  2. Parents may sacrifice what they have and spare no effort in order to make their children happy. Spend the night till her child stop crying. Deprived himself just to give his children a piece of food.
  3. Look into the mirror. Without them, you are nowhere in this world.

Before I end this entry, read this sentence carefully: One of the greatest blessings that not many of us appreciate it is our parents. It’s pointless to appreciate it when they are not anymore in this world.

So, why not call your mom and say something that soothe her, or bring your parents to a nice dinner, or buy them coupons to have free vacation or spa during the weekend – anything that makes them HAPPY. Best of luck! (^.^)v
